Our Approach
Alpha Cohort Fellowship is mentorship-driven from the beginning. Students receive professional guidance, career development support, networking opportunities, cohort connection, and hands-on experience with host partners.
Our goal is to help students not only gain experience, but also build confidence, professional relationships, communication skills, and long-term career direction.
Our Story
At Alpha Cohort Fellowship, we believe students deserve more than internship opportunities. They deserve mentorship, guidance, encouragement, and meaningful access to professional experiences that help shape their future.
Alpha Cohort was founded on the belief that real-world exposure, supportive mentorship, and community connection can change the trajectory of a student's career. Our team is passionate about helping emerging professionals build confidence, gain experience, and develop the tools needed to successfully transition from college into the workforce.
Through mentorship-driven programming and partnerships with host partners, Alpha Cohort creates opportunities that support both student growth and local workforce development.
Our Mission
Alpha Cohort Fellowship empowers local college students through mentorship, professional development, and paid real-world experience that helps bridge the gap between education and the workforce.
Through partnerships with host partners, our mentors, and community leaders, we help students build confidence, gain professional exposure, and develop the skills and relationships needed to succeed beyond the classroom.
Together, we are creating a stronger future workforce rooted in access, guidance, community, and opportunity.

Sandy Montero
Sandy Montero
Sandy Montero is a workforce development advocate, educator, business leader, and talent strategist whose career has centered on helping people grow personally and professionally through mentorship, leadership, and opportunity.
With experience across education, recruiting, workforce solutions, business operations, leadership development, and talent strategy, Sandy has spent years helping individuals navigate career growth while supporting organizations in building stronger teams and workplace cultures.
Before moving into workforce development and business leadership, Sandy worked in education, where she developed a deep passion for mentorship, guidance, and helping students build confidence during important stages of growth. That background continues to shape her belief that encouragement, access, and professional exposure can have a lasting impact on a student's future.
As both a business professional and a mother, Sandy's motivation for co-founding Alpha Cohort Fellowship became personal. After watching her daughter navigate the challenges of securing and adjusting to her first internship experience, Sandy saw how difficult the transition from college into professional environments can be, even for motivated and capable students.
Sandy co-founded Alpha Cohort to create a mentorship-driven community where students receive meaningful guidance, professional exposure, real-world experience, and support as they begin building their future careers.
For Sandy, Alpha Cohort is about far more than internships. It is about helping students feel empowered, connected, prepared, and supported as they navigate one of the most important transitions of their lives.
